Maitland is the name of a town in the fictional, post-apocalyptic, Louisiana. It was founded by a band of Native Americans, the Maitlands, who are still trying to maintain some kind of tribal identity. I was really impressed by the fact that the developers didn’t just try to make a generic Native American town and call it a day. The fact that the town is a reference to the Maitlands themselves is really cool too.
This is a town that is very, very real. It’s actually an old one, founded in the 18th century.
I don’t know if I’ve ever been there, but I’m sure it’s a very interesting town. I’ve been to parts of Louisiana and they are very, very interesting. The fact that they are old is probably one of the reasons why it’s so awesome. I haven’t been to the Louisiana State Cemetery yet, so it’s hard to say for sure, but I am excited about the possibility of getting there and exploring the abandoned structures.
I can understand why people would be intrigued by this old town, but if I was going to go there and explore some of the abandoned structures, I’d probably want to go on foot. The roads are narrow and winding, there’s no sidewalks, and there’s no streetlights. I wouldn’t recommend a four-wheel drive to explore.
I would only recommend that if you are brave and/or have a four-wheel drive, go to a local cemetery. There is no access to the cemetery grounds, so you need to get there by car. You can only get there by walking, and the cemetery is a bit further than you’d think. There are just a few paved roads that lead to the burial grounds.
